About Me

I am an Assistant Professor at the London Interdisciplinary School and a PhD Researcher at the University of Birmingham, under supervision of Professor Karen Yeung (School of Law) and Dr Hyung Jin Chang (School of Computer Science).

I was previously a Lecturer in Law and Data Science at the University of Birmingham, and I previously studied at the University of Cambridge (LLM, Queens’ College) and the University of Amsterdam (BSc).

About My Research

The aim of the field of computer vision is to teach computers how to “see.” My research looks into the potential harms of computer vision technologies, as these new technologies interact with already existing political and legal contexts. Specifically, I am interested in how computer vision technologies create meaning. This is especially important in contexts in which computer vision is used as a tool for governance.

This project received funding from the University of Birmingham College of Arts and Law.
